SEN Learning Support Assistant

A secondary school in Hackney, London, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students with special needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing in-class support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
2. Assisting teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
3. Supporting students in both one-to-one and small group settings, helping them engage with the curriculum.
4. Encouraging the development of social skills and positive behaviour.
5. Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement personalised education plans (IEPs) for each student.
6. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Salary: £90-100 per annum depending on experience.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
2. A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
