Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team at The Co-operative Group in Scunthorpe. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on developing and maintaining our EPOS systems, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively.


About the Job

This is a hybrid role that requires you to split your time between working from home and our office in Scunthorpe. As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and launching efficient systems and solutions to support our core EPOS functions.


Responsibilities
  • System Development: Own the development and maintenance of our Nisa EPOS solution.
  • Error Resolution: Identify and resolve program errors, as well as system and database access and performance issues.
  • Application Management: Manage application development to support business operations and provide updates to the development manager.
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with network administrators, trainers, and testers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have experience using the Microsoft development stack (C#, ASP.Net etc), SQL and TSQL development on a Microsoft SQL server express platform, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) and/or WPF-based solutions. Additionally, you should possess good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language for a non-technical audience, and good relationship-building and collaboration skills.
