Austin Fraser, a leading recruitment agency, is looking for a highly experienced Director of Public Relations to join their team in Bristol, England.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances awareness and fosters greater collaboration across the project. They will also play an active part in authoring and delivering communications and setting the directorate up for success for long-term implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with the directorate's objectives, ensuring consistent and effective messaging across functions and interfacing organisations.
  • Communication Planning: Plan and oversee the production of high-quality verbal, written and digital communications, adapting to suit audience requirements and seeking appropriate level of sign off.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, technical staff and external teams to build awareness of initiatives and ensure clear and timely dissemination of information.
  • Promotion and Awareness: Promote the programme through various platforms and raise awareness of the project's successes.
  • Digital Platform Management: Oversee the directorate's digital platforms, ensuring the content is current, engaging and reflective of ongoing projects and team capabilities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track the implementation of the strategy and establish feedback loops to ensure communication activities are effective.
  • Channel Management: Work closely with internal and external communications teams to establish and maintain effective communication channels.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing communication materials and plans.
  • Ability to understand and segment different stakeholders and audiences and match to appropriate channels of communication.
  • Ability to translate complex topics and strategies into clear, engaging, and accessible communications tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Influential individual with ability to obtain buy-in to proposals that meet business objectives.
  • Ability to respond to quickly changing circumstances and high levels of demand, providing timely, high-quality communications support as needed.
  • Adaptable to new ideas, wishing to continuously learn and seek OPEX.
  • Ability to navigate varying business needs, prioritise workload and coordinate support from others.
  • Strongly dependable, with ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to operate a wider range of concurrent activities and respond flexibly to changing demands.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
