Job Title: Machinist

M-Sport UK is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our busy Machine Shop team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating bespoke parts for high-performance vehicles and completing projects to precise customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting and operating 3 and 5 axis CNC Machining Centres and Lathes
  • Writing and proving programs using HyperMill, Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
  • Maintaining and controlling a current tool inventory
  • Checking and maintaining lubricants and coolant levels
  • Operating manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and hand drills
  • Working with jigs and fixtures
  • Machining parts to our specifications, recording contract documentation, completing time sheets correctly and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
  • Ensuring parts proceed to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • Cleaning machines as appropriate
Requirements:
  • Education to a Level 3 standard or equivalent qualification in Machining
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Machine Workshop
  • Good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and inspect your own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver a high standard of performance and quality while working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment
  • Confidence programming CNC machines with previous experience in a similar environment as a CNC Operator
  • Strong communication skills and ability to fit into a small team
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as confident learning and using new computer-based platforms
