Job Title: Prison Security Escort

Location: HMP Coldingley

Job Type: Temporary, with potential for long-term opportunity

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

About the Role:

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work closely with the prison service to ensure the safe and secure movement of contractors within the facility. Your primary responsibility will be to escort and oversee contractors, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians, while they complete their maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the identification of contractors and ensure they have received security briefings
  • Manage the booking in and out of contractors, including creating tool lists
  • Escort contractors through the prison to their designated work areas
  • Oversee contractors while they work, ensuring their safety and adherence to security protocols
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure contractors' tools are accounted for before leaving the work area
  • Communicate with the security team via radio to request permission for contractor movements
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow security protocols
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Must have been living in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Must be able to pass security vetting, including providing references and undergoing security police checks
