We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paediatric Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Children's Nurse to take on a leadership role within our dynamic team, providing high-quality care to infants, children, and young people. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing care to children and young people, without direct supervision, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Manage and implement the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of a high standard of evidence-based care to a group of infants, children, young people, and their families.
- Deliver effective discharge planning of children, liaising with other professionals and agencies as required.
- Promote family-centred care and act as an advocate for children.
- Maximise opportunities for health promotion and health education for patients and their families.
- Provide nursing care to high-dependency children during both the acute phase and when stabilised.
- Support students and perform Mentor roles or attend Mentor and Assessing Courses in line with NMC standards.
- Escort children to other healthcare providers as required.
- Provide telephone advice for parents requesting information and support.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Higher Diploma/ Degree RSCN/ RNC/ R Children & Young People Nurses qualification.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Numeracy and IT skills.
- 12 months current experience in acute Paediatrics, although newly qualified paediatric nurses are also encouraged to apply.
The salary for this role is approximately £28,000-£38,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
