Ultrafast Laser Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Ultrafast Laser Specialist to join our research team at the University of East Anglia. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology and contribute to the development of new techniques and methodologies.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing ultrafast laser experiments, including femtosecond transient absorption and stimulated Raman spectroscopy. You will also contribute to grant applications, supervise researchers and teach students within the School.

About the Role

This senior research role offers a competitive salary of £37,999-£45,163 per annum, depending on experience. The position comes with a range of benefits, including 44 days annual leave, family-friendly policies, and access to excellent facilities and resources.

As a member of our research community, you will have opportunities to develop new techniques and methodologies, collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and present your research findings at national and international conferences.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement ultrafast laser experiments
  • Analyze and interpret data from experiments
  • Contribute to grant applications
  • Supervise researchers and teach students within the School
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a postgraduate level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant research area. You should also have experience in independent research, publications in respected journals, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
