Job Description

Novus Transforming Lives is a national, public-sector learning organisation with a mission to improve lives and economic success through learning and skills.

We are seeking an experienced Academic Subject Matter Expert to join our Education team as a Functional Skills Maths Tutor for Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Lowdham Grange, on a permanent, full-time basis working 40 hours per week.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of learners in a prison setting. As a Tutor, you will develop and deliver high-quality education to meet contractual requirements and standards, supporting learners and colleagues alike to ensure the best outcome for all.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering learner-focused education that meets contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus policies and procedures.

What We Need from You
  • A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale (required)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism

The salary for this role is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
