Job Title: Senior Engineer - Lightweight Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team at Williams Advanced Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of lightweight mechanical structures for high-performance applications in various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the system team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain system requirements documents, SoW, functional specifications, Interface control document, system description documents, designs, DFMEAs, and DVPs.
  • Plan and schedule projects, defining commodity plan documents, schedule, issues, and risk management plans.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to problems, carrying out hand calculations or theoretical analysis of mechanical structures.
  • Define and oversee development testing and design/product validation and verification activities.
  • Guide and support internal Research and Development projects and the work provided by other departments within WAE or external suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Create technical reports and customer documentation.
  • Mentor, develop, and train to improve organizational technical capability.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar roles in heavy industry, mining, rail, or hydrogen storage and vehicles.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, while managing team priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated experience of communicating to a variety of stakeholders.
