{"Main Responsibilities

Ensure the safe use and storage of equipment so that a hazard-free environment is maintained.
Teach a range of organised aquatic disciplines at appropriate levels/stages of ability including: swimming; life-saving; synchronised swimming; diving and water-polo, in accordance with the needs of the service.
Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the 'levels'/ 'stages' outlined in the Swim England 'Learn to Swim' programme.
Where necessary, assume responsibility of a Level 1 'assistant teacher' and utilise to maximum learning effect, in accordance with the agreed aims and outcomes of the lesson.
Contribute towards prompt time-keeping of the daily lesson programme, including efficient running of class change-overs.
Apply the 'Brio Learn 2 Swim Scheme of Work', in accordance with the week number of each lesson cycle.
Update participant achievement records as required.
Be prepared to engage in a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Liaise with: participants, parents and Aquatics Lead as required.
Carry out any other duties as requested by the Aquatics Lead, Aquatics Officer or Duty Manager appropriate to the needs of the service.

Key Requirements

SEQ (Swim England Qualified) or equivalent Level 1 and Level 2 swimming teachers.
NPLQ or NRASTC qualification (although not essential).
Good communication skills.
Ability to deliver the Swim England 'Learn to Swim Programme'.
