Role Overview
This exciting role is within our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen offices. The role is split between a focus on tax reporting within our national AARTS team and our corporate tax compliance business.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Partners and/or Directors on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and understand their business to build your own external network and create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services.
- Manage UK and cross-border teams on tax reporting and UK corporation tax compliance projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms, and external advisers.
- Manage aspects of the team's operations and performance, including resourcing, coaching, and developing junior team members.
- Seek out and pursue opportunities with clients and targets, actively participating with Partners and Directors in business development activities.
- Manage our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials.
- Be a role model for KPMG's values.
Requirements
- Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.
- Ambitious and enthusiastic.
- Strong UK corporation tax knowledge and awareness of other tax matters.
- Strong understanding of tax accounting concepts under IFRS, UK GAAP (knowledge of US GAAP also desirable).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, curious, and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to work as part of a team and to show initiative to drive projects forward.
