About the JobThe Principal Social Worker role focuses on Court Work, supporting case-holding social workers in managing complex cases involving children subject to care proceedings.
You will be responsible for all aspects of case management, including statutory visiting, care planning, and review, as well as court proceedings. Your expertise will help assess current risks and protective factors, identifying the likelihood of sustained change within the child's timescales.
This demanding yet rewarding role requires experience working with children subject to care proceedings and their families. You must produce high-quality work, providing recommendations based on sound evidence-based analysis.
BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary, ranging from £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you can enjoy:

- Experience in conducting assessments using the Department of Health Framework of assessment.
- Familiarity with the NSPCC Reunification framework principles.
- An understanding of the impact of trauma on parents' capacity and child needs.
- The ability to overcome barriers to engagement during the assessment process.
- Tailored assessment skills tailored to the learning styles of parents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to draw upon knowledge from other professionals and informal support networks.
