About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Advanced Aerostructures team at BAE Systems as a Structural Dynamics and Analysis Specialist.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing structural dynamics and analysis tasks, reviewing and checking work done by less experienced colleagues, and mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Carry out structural dynamics and analysis tasks allocated to you and your team members.
  • Review, check and approve work done by less experienced colleagues.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues to build up the team's knowledge, skill and experience across the Structures discipline.
  • Perform analysis of structure fatigue and damage tolerance calculations using various software applications.
  • Assess the F&DT implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration and acoustic effects analysis methods.
  • Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods.
  • Experience in using and applying structural analysis tools such as Nastran etc., and output data processing techniques.
  • Experience of leading engineers in developing and delivering satisfactory customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience of Aircraft Structural Engineering, and the application of F&DT analysis.
