About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ophthalmologist to join our team as a Locally Employed Doctor - Paediatric Ophthalmology Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative department, providing high-quality care to patients with paediatric eye conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical team to develop and deliver the Paediatric Ophthalmology Service, ensuring excellent patient outcomes and high-quality care.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the Trust's strategic objectives.
  • Participate in research and audit projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
  • Provide clinical teaching and training to postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff, promoting excellence in patient care and service delivery.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience:

  • MBchB/MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCOphth part 1 or equivalent.
  • MRCOphth part 3 or equivalent.
  • At least three years' full-time postgraduate training in Ophthalmology and one year experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Ophthalmology.
  • Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk.
