Exciting Opportunity for CAD Design and Sales Support Engineer

Solution 47 is seeking a highly skilled CAD Design and Sales Support Engineer to join our expanding team in Haverhill. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in producing and developing 3D CAD models, fully dimensioned production drawings, and CAM programs for our machine centers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide sales and project management support, including estimating, order processing, and approval drawings.
  • Liaise with customers, internal sales, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Manage and work with the CAD/CAM team to create 3D models, approval and production drawings, and Laser/Punch/Press CAM programs.
  • Offer proactive design and value engineering input to determine the most appropriate design and manufacturing methods.
  • Follow customer jobs through from order to delivery, including involvement on the shop floor and liaison with production control.
  • Ensure CAD and CAM programs meet quality standards and maximize sheet material utilization and productivity.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD, CAM, and Production Control software.
  • Develop sales, project management, and CAD/CAM skills through internal and external training.
Requirements:
  • Previous sales and project management experience with strong customer relationships.
  • At least three years' experience in 3D CAD modeling software, including 2D, 3D modeling, and 2D drafting.
  • Prior experience in CAM programming is ideal.
  • Knowledge and experience of general sheet metal/fabrication is beneficial.
  • A valid driving license with no more than three points and willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overnight.
  • Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
