About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our Civil Engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide range of projects, from small pre-feasibility studies to detailed design and supervision of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Your technical expertise will include a variety of skills, such as earthworks, highway design, flood risk and drainage, water supply, and power supply. You will also have comprehension and interest in sustainability and/or carbon management, infrastructure resilience, and smart cities.

As a Senior Civil Infrastructure Specialist, you will be expected to actively share knowledge across the team, supervising design work, and ensuring that we deliver excellent solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of civil engineering projects, including pre-feasibility studies, detailed design, and supervision
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in civil and infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with technical professionals to deliver high-quality projects
  • Assist in developing our Civil Engineering business by attending client meetings, producing bid documentation, and general business development activities

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer/member of a relevant professional institution (such as ICE or equivalent)
  • Technical expertise in civil and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to manage a complex and varied workload, often involving multiple concurrent projects
  • Self-motivated, with experience of leading small/medium teams with some direction from team leadership
  • Confident and capable in communicating with clients and other members of the professional team
