Job Type: Permanent Part-Time

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the development and implementation of our influencing plan to raise the profile and influence of Barnardo's amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers in Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead to conduct research, produce reports, monitor policy developments, and liaise with policy stakeholders to ensure the voices of children, young people, families, and our services are at the heart of our influencing.

This role will involve event management, publicising our work, and supporting reactive policy work. The postholder will be home-based but will require travel to Belfast and/or other parts of Northern Ireland for in-person meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and produce reports to inform our influencing plan
  • Monitor policy developments and liaise with policy stakeholders
  • Support event management and publicising our work
  • Work closely with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead to ensure effective implementation of our influencing plan

Requirements:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of policy and public affairs in Northern Ireland
