As a Trading Systems Engineer, you will be part of our Application Support team, providing mission-critical support for our proprietary and third-party trading systems. Your responsibilities will include establishing best-in-class production support, efficient software deployment, and proactive monitoring to anticipate and avoid issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with our team to establish best-in-class production support, efficient software deployment, and proactive monitoring.
  2. Ensure maximum trading system availability to avoid missing key trading opportunities.
  3. Provide support for various trading groups' production systems across asset classes and geographic locations.
  4. Develop proprietary process automation and monitoring tools.
  5. Troubleshoot trading system production incidents resulting from internal or external factors.
  6. Automate software configuration and rollout procedures.
  7. Support core market connectivity and correspond with exchanges regarding trade order activity.
  8. Collaborate with traders, DBAs, development, back office, QA, infrastructure, technical support, business development, and management teams.
  9. Help end users and developers understand core trading and back-office systems.
  10. Build documentation for common procedures, troubleshooting scenarios, and system architecture.

Requirements:

  1. Superior troubleshooting skills and ability to navigate issues efficiently.
  2. Prior experience supporting high-performance applications, process monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  3. Prior experience working with FIX protocol and alternative exchange protocols.
  4. Script development experience a plus.
  5. SQL experience including queries, updates, table creation, and basic database maintenance.
  6. Linux & Windows platform support experience in a large-scale production environment.
  7. Experience supporting electronic trading systems; prior experience at a proprietary trading firm preferred.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of network communications, including use of multicast networking.
  9. Must have some flexibility in work schedule to help ensure team coverage.
  10. Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
  11. Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity.
  12. High level of ownership and accountability, reliability, and strong follow-through.
  13. Ability to handle pressure and time constraints with composure.
