Maintenance Planning Specialist

Red Sky Personnel Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team in the aviation industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing maintenance and materials planning requirements, producing line and base maintenance work packs, and reviewing maintenance work packs for completion prior to aircraft departure.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations.
- Liaise with the Maintenance Team and other departments to ensure a common understanding of maintenance capability and capacity.
- Enter technical log utilisation data onto the Management Information System (MIS).
- Review allocated aircraft maintenance status to ensure compliance with the approved maintenance program.
- Prepare and review maintenance variations.
- Identify provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft based on projected utilisation and update the in-house maintenance planning calendar.
- Review material requirements against provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft.
- Raise reservations/purchase requisitions for required materials.
- Liaise with Customer Support Managers to confirm maintenance dates with the owner/operator.
- Liaise with the Airworthiness Department for accomplishment of Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other airworthiness requirements.
- Raise scheduled maintenance work packs and confirm required materials and necessary documentation are available for allocated aircraft.
- Review work packs for maintenance inputs to ensure that aircraft downtimes are minimised.
- Ensure that prior to aircraft departing from Base Maintenance, all planned maintenance has been accomplished and liaise with Customer Support Managers as required.
- Issue 'Short Term Maintenance Items' forecast for each aircraft.
- Reset Maintenance tasks on the MIS.
- Provide cross-functional support across the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) team.
- Continually improve airworthiness processes and procedures to enhance overall efficiency of the Planning department.
- Perform other duties as required by the Maintenance Planning Supervisor, Continuing Airworthiness Manager, or designated deputy.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and material planning requirements as related to Part CAMO / A8-25 & Part 145 / A8-23.
- Methodical with acute attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision or as part of a team.
- Flexible work ethic focused on delivering against agreed timelines.
- Strong team leadership.
- Proactive - ability to recognise potential issues and apply remedial action before they raise concern or affect operations.
- High computer literacy skills and competence with Google Docs.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Education, Qualifications or Training:
- Minimum 5 GCSE's Grade C or above or equivalent recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BTEC).
- Aviation-related degree or equivalent.
- Aviation human factors training undertaken.
- Recognised Part CAMO Training Course accomplished.
- Recognised Part 145 Training Course accomplished.
