Job Description

Job Title: Junior Buyer

Location: Birmingham

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Holidays: 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays)

Working Hours: 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

This role is responsible for managing the critical path of new product development for retailers. The successful candidate will assist with pitching to retailers for own brand projects and take end-to-end responsibility for the management of own brand projects on selected retailer accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brief suppliers on new projects as required by customers or retailers
  • Ensure familiarity with customers' current ranges and identify potential gaps in range to work on proposals to fill the gaps
  • Manage samples and develop new products
  • Work closely with the Buyer to manage critical path and ensure timely delivery of projects

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience in an administrative or support role, preferably as an Assistant Buyer in a Buying office environment
  • Experience in retail merchandising and product development
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days per week in the office)
