Salary Range: £46,000 - £51,000

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Defence Specialist to join our team as a DevOps Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development and implementation of automated cyber defence systems for the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provisioning cloud infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient deployment of our cyber defence systems.
  2. Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes to reduce technical debt.
  3. Performing testing of code to ensure functionality is correct, including peer reviewing.
  4. Maintaining and supporting IT systems, including patching and bug fixing.
  5. Improving the performance of existing deployments to reduce technical debt.
  6. Keeping detailed records of development processes, including code documentation.
  7. Managing code deployment through RTL environment.

About the Team: We are a growing team of security experts who are passionate about developing innovative solutions to combat cyber security threats. We work collaboratively to design and implement solutions that protect our systems and data from cyber threats.

Requirements:

  1. Expected to have a broad understanding across DevOps related domains and technologies, including CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Drone.
  2. Knowledge across multiple cloud environments, with notable experience with GCP.
  3. Security background or knowledge is preferable.
  4. Good knowledge of Python.
  5. Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  6. Networking experience, including understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, VPNs, and protocols.
  7. Troubleshooting skills, including feeding, app, platform, and network issues.
  8. Good verbal skills, including ability to describe technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  9. Holistic and persistent problem solver.
  10. Self-starter with ability to work independently and progress multiple pieces of development at any one time.
