About the Role

Prysmian Group is seeking a skilled Site Commissioning Engineer to join our High Voltage (HV) business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and commissioning High Voltage cable installations throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate High Voltage testing, liaising with project managers, site managers, and engineers to ensure smooth execution.
  • Interface with the Commissioning Manager to gather information, plan, and complete projects accurately, allowing for the production of precise costs.
  • Perform site assessments prior to High Voltage testing, producing detailed site-specific method statements and risk assessments.
  • Write up commissioning procedures and reports following site commissioning activities.
  • Erect and set up test equipment defined by the Commissioning Manager and Test team.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small team, traveling and working together on site to a high level of professionalism.
  • Organize Test Department and subcontractor resources to achieve test programs.
  • Coordinate ongoing maintenance, calibration, and repair of test equipment.
Requirements
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Planner, etc.), with the ability to write high-quality technical reports.
  • An electrical engineering background, preferably with experience in a High Voltage environment. An interest in the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering is desired.
  • Strong communication skills and team working aptitude, particularly as this role requires working closely with a team of people.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Travel will be required; therefore, a driving license is essential.
  • Ability to work away from home, at weekends, and on occasion during Bank Holidays as required by the test program.
  • A CSCS Safety Passport and/or National Grid Persons Accreditation qualification would be an advantage.
