Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled In-House Construction Lawyer to join our team at Gleeson Recruitment Group.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts for various construction projects. This will include drafting board papers for projects at pre-tender, tender, and post-tender stages, as well as reviewing and drafting collateral warranties, NDAs, parent company guarantees, retention, performance bonds, and framework agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts
  • Drafting board papers for projects at pre-tender, tender, and post-tender stages
  • Reviewing and drafting collateral warranties, NDAs, parent company guarantees, retention, performance bonds, and framework agreements
  • Drafting and implementing policies and procedures to support bid teams, quantity surveyors, and commercial managers
  • Managing multiple complex legal matters simultaneously

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with 3-6 years PQE
  • Experience in non-contentious and contentious construction matters
  • Familiar with standard form construction contracts: JCT, NEC, and FIDIC but can also work with bespoke client agreements
  • Litigation experience an advantage
  • Acts with integrity and discretion
  • Proactive and pragmatic
  • Hands-on: gets involved with issues, support and challenge colleagues constructively
  • Able to communicate and work with people collaboratively at all levels
