Job Summary

Wood PLC is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our team at SAGE Gas Terminal in St Fergus. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all instrumentation equipment is fully operational, in service, and maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative, planned, and remedial maintenance as per maintenance management system work instructions and supervision's direction.
  • Plan and prepare all necessary paperwork, including risk assessments and permits, to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out isolations on instrument and control systems in a competent manner, adhering to Safety Management System and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct checks on safety and production critical equipment, reporting any deviations from set parameters and raising work orders in the maintenance management system.
  • Perform fault finding and diagnostic checks on all site equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure critical spares are available and address any discrepancies.
  • Provide technical instruction and guidance to ad hoc personnel and new team members.
  • Minimize downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets.
  • Prepare technical reports as required.

Instrumentation equipment inspection and maintenance in hazardous areas

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Level 3 VQ (modern apprenticeship) - Maintaining Plant - Instruments & Control, or
  • Instrumentation Apprenticeship (BTEC/ ONC) or equivalent City and Guilds apprenticeship.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • ATEX Inspections COMPEX level 01-04
  • Maintaining Small Bore Tubing SBT01 & SBT02
  • Relevant Oil & Gas experience
  • Familiarity with DCS, ESD, F&G, Fiscal metering, ISSOW, and Maximo systems would be advantageous.
