Job Summary:

Babington is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join its team. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding personal and sensitive information handled by the company, developing and implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS), and conducting duties as a Data Protection Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines.\
  • Evaluate and implement physical security measures, including CCTV and access control systems.\
  • Minimise unstructured data exposure risks through process, policy, and procedure implementation.\
  • Ensure robust and compliant strategies for data retention and records management throughout the business.\
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and accreditation standards affecting information security and data protection, recommending relevant updates to organisational policies, procedures, and ways of working.\
  • Lead data breach investigations, ensuring lessons learned are fed back to senior executives, and advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).\
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness about data protection and information security.\
  • Foster a culture of security consciousness within the organisation.\
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure contractual agreements include suitable security provisions.\
  • Review and implement security applications and features as required.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • Grade A-C GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.\
  • ISO27001 Lead Implementer certification.\
  • ISO27001 Lead Auditor certification.\
  • Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) qualification.\
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPPE/E) certification.\
  • Significant experience engaging with various stakeholders, delivering advice and guidance, and raising awareness.\
  • Proven experience managing compliance processes, including responding to incidents and breaches.\
  • Demonstrable experience dealing with outsourced third-party suppliers.\
  • Ability to analyse key data, management information, systems, and processes.\
  • Ability to deliver results according to agreed targets.\
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with diverse individuals.\
  • Ability to manage critical priorities effectively to meet deadlines.\
