About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Abingworth Hall, a stunning country house nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our 30-bedroom property, providing exceptional maintenance and repair services to our guests and staff.

As a Maintenance Person, you will be the first point of contact for any maintenance-related issues, working closely with our Area Maintenance Manager to resolve problems efficiently and effectively. Your expertise in plumbing, electrical work, pool plant maintenance, and carpentry will be invaluable in maintaining the high standards of our property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Work closely with the Area Maintenance Manager to plan and execute special projects
  • Collaborate with the House Gardener to maintain the garden area, including mending fences, tending to external lights, and maintaining walls
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices
Requirements
  • Recent hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical work, pool plant maintenance, or a related trade
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a flexible approach to handling diverse tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a work environment
  • Effective communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration with team members and stakeholders
