As a Residential Building Cleaning Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of operatives, ensuring the provision of safe and hygienic cleaning services. You will coordinate team activities, allocate work fairly, and utilize staff skills and knowledge to best meet service requirements.

The postholder will devise and manage procedures to maintain adequate service provision, including staff, resources, equipment, and finance. You will also be responsible for maintaining Health & Safety policies and guidelines for the site and ensuring compliance by all staff and visitors within the premises.

You will be an experienced supervisor with the ability to deliver a high-quality, effective, and efficient cleaning service in line with Health and Safety legislation. This role requires a clean, valid driving license.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Islington Council's Building Cleaning team, who manage the cleaning services at approximately 80 sites across the borough.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of operatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality cleaning services
  • Coordinating team activities and allocating work fairly
  • Maintaining Health & Safety policies and guidelines for the site
  • Devise and manage procedures to maintain adequate service provision

You will be required to use your technical skills to update and maintain management, financial, and administrative systems necessary for the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality services. Additionally, you will need to prioritize and work effectively under pressure and within tight schedules.

The successful candidate will have a good record of education, significant experience in a relevant supervisory position, and the ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff. You will also need to possess strong communication and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in standard Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

A salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, is available for this role. If you are a motivated and experienced individual looking for a new challenge, please apply for this exciting opportunity to join our team.
