Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Reactive Recruitment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance.
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects related to the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support and guidance to other departments as needed, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize maintenance processes and reduce costs.
  • Apprentice Support: Provide training and guidance to apprentices, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Time-served and qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering, with strong mechanical skills and 2 years of post-apprenticeship industry experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of single and three-phase electrical installations and equipment, ability to diagnose faults on electrical control circuits, general electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment, and experience with PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Additional Skills: Ability to set up and program motor inverters and various control gear, including temperature controllers, counters, and timers, experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, and comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
