Job Title: SEND Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Support Assistant to join our Secondary SEND Department in Lincoln. This role offers the opportunity to work with students who require additional support due to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will have the chance to make a real difference in students' lives, whether you are seeking a full-time or part-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support for students with various SEND needs, including learning difficulties, autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Help students access the curriculum by offering personalized support in classroom tasks, ensuring they can participate fully.
  • Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and independence within the school environment.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and assist with monitoring student progress.
  • Support students with exam preparation, ensuring accommodations and adjustments are made as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEND students in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with young people.
