Financial Controller Job Description

As a Financial Controller at Kerry Robert Associates, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our deluxe Country House style property. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and making informed decisions to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Generate revenue reports, track achieved revenue against budget and last year, and issue monthly flash revenue reports with key statistics and KPIs to inform management and staff of the hotel's current position.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Produce weekly revenue forecast reports and cash flow projections to ensure the hotel's financial stability.
  • Payroll and Pension Administration: Control payroll costs, review rotas and staffing levels against agreed metrics and payroll budgets, and administer pension contributions to ensure compliance with auto-enrolment regulations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Code invoices to appropriate expense accounts, post in correct time periods, and process supplier payments via BACS and ad-hoc pay-runs.
  • Credit Control: Issue timely and accurate client invoices and collect sales ledger payments and guest deposits.
  • Month-End Reconciliation: Reconcile bank/cash book, payroll, and general journal entries, maintain prepayment and accrual journals, and prepare detailed management packs for senior management, management company, and business owners.
  • Year-End Audit: Reconcile balance sheet nominals, produce comprehensive files for external audit partners, and ensure accounts are approved and filed in line with Companies House deadlines.
