Development Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Development Engineer to join our team in Cheshire. As a key member of our residential team, you will play a crucial role in advising and assisting in the day-to-day and planned activities, including site construction issues, land viabilities, legal, technical, sales, and contract enquiries.

The Role

As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  1. Managing tender processes for road and sewer contracts.
  2. Coordinating Section 38, 104, and 278 Agreements, including plot drainage from start to adoption.
  3. Overseeing tender processes for land viability reports, including site investigations, ecology, flood risk, and transport statements.
  4. Reviewing technical and legal reports/agreements and providing advice to other departments and senior management.
  5. Preparing detailed reports and estimating costs for constraints related to land viabilities.
  6. Liaising with consultants, contractors, local authority engineers, and planning officers.
  7. Preparing contract and H&S documentation.
  8. Assisting in land remediation, including discharge of NHBC red conditions.
  9. Providing assistance in the provision of details to discharge planning conditions.
  10. Preparing "as built" details and CDM documentation.
  11. Conducting Part M site level assessments and site layout reviews.
  12. Managing multi-utility contracts, MPAN registrations, and calling off service connections.
  13. Progressing foundation designs and tender processes.
  14. Financially monitoring tendered road and sewer contracts.
  15. Preparing planning documents and discharging planning conditions.
  16. Providing support to the Divisional Development Director and Divisional Land Director as needed for land enquiries/acquisitions.
  17. Updating documentation for the Land Acquisition File.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  2. The ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize work.
  3. Solid technical and legal knowledge of road, sewer, and SUDS requirements and approval processes.
  4. Accurate estimation of abnormal costs.
  5. Providing accurate and detailed reports.
  6. Autocad experience is desirable but not essential.
