Job Title: Senior Ruby Software Architect

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby Software Architect to join our team at Oho Group. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex software systems using Ruby. Your expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ArcGIS, and QGIS will be essential in developing our flagship product, which helps to conserve endangered species, climate change, oceans, and natural landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement software systems using Ruby
Develop and maintain our flagship product using GIS, ArcGIS, and QGIS
Collaborate with the development team to ensure the successful delivery of projects
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Ruby and GIS technologies

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in Ruby development
Strong experience with GIS, ArcGIS, and QGIS
Experience with Web Mapping experience (PostGIS, CartoDB)
Experience with GIT/ Version Control
Experience with leading technical teams
Experience with JavaScript and Front End Development
Experience with updating software and database versions on Unix-based systems
Undergraduate degree in computer science (Desirable)
An interest in the natural world (Desirable)
