SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting in the implementation of IEPs, and collaborating with teachers to assess student progress. You will also be required to maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support students with SEN in the classroom, promoting their engagement and participation in learning activities.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs, including behavior management strategies.
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to assess student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
  4. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, valuing diversity and promoting social cohesion.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A caring and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
