Project Planning Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Project Planner/Controller to join their team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will work on security cleared projects within the defence industry, utilizing their expertise in project planning and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Progress Analysis and Reporting: Analyze ongoing progress and performance, assessing it against contractual and internal targets, determining variance and its causes.
  2. Project Schedule Development: Establish and initiate the sector/project overall project schedule, ensuring it is deployed and maintained to the company standard.
  3. Planning Skills Development: Support the development of planning skills across the project team, coaching team members in best practice planning and scheduling.
  4. Project Performance Management: Integrate all work package plans, ensuring they are fully integrated to achieve an overall network to the company standard. Deploy, manage, and maintain the project's performance measurement baseline.
  5. Project Schedule Data Management: Produce, distribute, and report project schedule data as required, advising on conflicts and corrective actions.
  6. Earned Value Management: Manage the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and apply when required.
  7. Project Critical Path Analysis: Manage and maintain the project critical path analysis process to the company standard.
  8. Team Collaboration: Foster good working relationships with engineers and the broader community to embed the company's project control standards, systems, and methods, delivering accurate and quality project performance status data in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Primavera and SAP PS Expertise: Possess a high level of competence and experience with Primavera and SAP PS, as well as industry-standard computing applications (specifically spreadsheets).
  2. Communication and Teamwork: Hold durable communication skills, capable of working in large teams with a complexity of skills (engineering, finance, commercial, project management, etc).
  3. Cultural Adaptability: Possess the appeal of working in a multicultural pan-European environment.
  4. Commercial and Financial Management: Have a proven level of commercial and financial management experience.
  5. Leadership and Negotiation: Be a proactive team player who can inspire others, assertive, and possess strong negotiation and arbitration skills.
