Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the piping construction activities for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade/expansion project in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction of offsites and utilities (OSBL) and will work closely with the project team to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

The role will involve coordinating with subcontractors, craft professionals, and engineering teams to ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping construction, with a minimum of 20 years of experience in leading similar projects. They will be familiar with Indian standards and specifications, as well as Bechtel's business ethics and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee piping construction activities, including pressure testing methods.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, craft professionals, and engineering teams to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and control construction schedules, resource charts, and material/equipment requirements.
  • Review and approve construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material/equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve constructability issues.
Requirements:
  • Recognized degree in Mechanical engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in piping construction, with a strong background in leading similar projects.
  • Familiarity with Indian standards and specifications, as well as Bechtel's business ethics and policies.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret engineering design documents and vendor documents.
