About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Homes for Students. As a key member of our property maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high-quality condition and upkeep of our student accommodation properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to properties, including painting, unblocking drains, fixing taps, and changing lightbulbs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding promptly to reported faults and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the maintenance team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of maintenance services.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures and legal requirements.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience of property maintenance within a similar environment, or experienced and qualified in a trade with the ability to work across a number of trade disciplines to a reasonable standard.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements.
  • Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and to keep individuals informed of progress.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of prioritising workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.
  • To be proactive in approach, with the ability to use initiative and resolve issues or problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work.
