Maintenance Technician Role

Cooper Lomaz is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Bury St Edmunds. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing corrective and preventive mechanical maintenance on production and processing equipment, as well as utility-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility-related equipment
  • Support the installation of new equipment
  • Ensure all repairs are documented
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and neat work area
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly
  • Participate in BOPEX (continuous improvement) program
  • Comply with all procedures, regulations, and policies applicable
  • Stop and report unsafe operations and use mandatory PPE as defined
  • Offer flexibility in working hours subject to business needs

Requirements:
  • Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene, and safety requirements
  • Fluent English
  • Computer skills
  • 5+ years experience in repair and maintenance of machinery in a food or drink manufacturing environment
  • Level 3 NVQ in engineering and 18th Edition preferable but not essential
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a team

  • 06:00 - 18:00 for 3 days, 18:00 - 06:00 for 2 days, 4 days off
  • 06:00 - 18:00 for 2 days, 18:00 - 06:00 for 2 days, 3 days off in rotation
