Job Role: Children's Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Darlington. As a key member of our residential service, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our young residents, encouraging them to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives. You will work closely with our team to maintain a homely and friendly culture, dealing with challenging behaviours when necessary, and protecting our young people from risks to their health and welfare.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people. You will also require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, encourage, and mentor our young residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives.

  • Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary.
  • Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for young people to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable.
  • You must be a car driver, as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 25 due to car insurance requirements.
  • NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
