Aldwych Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our team of passionate Development Infrastructure Engineers in Cambridge. As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in producing engineering designs throughout the project lifecycle, spanning planning applications, detailed designs of drainage, highways, public realm, SUDS, and building drainage for major infrastructure and various developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engineering solutions for complex infrastructure projects
  • Prepare highway and drainage designs for private and adoptable works
  • Produce technical drawings for tender and construction purposes, including 3D modeling software, MicroDrainage, and AutoCAD
  • Apply design codes and standards like Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual, and more
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget

Requirements:

  • HNC or BEng in Civil Engineering
  • Background in consultancy or private sector development with experience in residential projects
  • Proficiency in preparing highway and drainage designs for private and adoptable works
  • Skill in producing technical drawings for tender and construction purposes, including 3D modeling software, MicroDrainage, and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with legal, planning, and technical procedures for new developments and regeneration projects
  • Experience applying design codes and standards like Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual, and more
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Effective organizational and communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative and responsible approach
  • Proactive, strategic, and analytical problem-solving skills to meet client requirements
