Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Position

About the Role:
A dedicated resource unit in a primary school in Bristol is seeking a Psychology or Criminology graduate to join their team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be willing to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates in fields such as Psychology, Criminology, or related areas to gain valuable experience working with children who have complex learning disabilities.

About the School:
The school caters to children aged 3 to 11 and requires a consistent, nurturing presence to ensure they receive the highest standard of care and child-focused support. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a small class of 12 children, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists, teachers, and support staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for those pursuing a career as an educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher.

Key Responsibilities:
• Providing support to children with complex needs, autism, and learning disabilities
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and support for students
• Working closely with therapists and psychologists to develop individualized plans for students
• Maintaining accurate records and reports on student progress

Requirements:
• A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field (desirable)
• Experience in SEN (personal or professional) is beneficial
• Understanding of and openness to working with children with complex needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
