Support Teacher

As a Support Teacher - Autism, you will be part of a small, dedicated team that prioritizes individual progress and celebrates each pupil's unique strengths. You will work closely with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. This role involves teaching small groups of pupils in a supportive and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will have a solid background in SEN, experience working with children or young people with autism, and a strong passion for inclusive education. You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, promoting positive behavior and emotional wellbeing, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with autism.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure pupils receive the best care and education.
- Promote positive behavior and emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and carers.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance SEN expertise.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience working with children or young people with autism.
- A strong passion for SEN and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Teaching qualifications are desirable, but we welcome applications from unqualified teachers with a solid background in SEN.
- Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
