Job Overview

  • Manage the Credit Control Process: Ensure timely collection of outstanding debts in accordance with agreed payment terms, maintaining a positive relationship with customers while ensuring financial stability.
  • Monitor Accounts: Regularly review and manage customer accounts to identify potential issues, proactively addressing overdue balances and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Resolve Discrepancies: Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve invoicing issues and account discrepancies, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on outstanding debts, collections, and debtor days to management, providing insights for informed decision-making.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Process and post weekly invoices for DWP contributions, Mobility contributions, and Rent.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and credit management policies.
  • Qualifications: GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and written/spoken English; or similar standard, a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Excel
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with credit management policies, financial regulations, and legal processes related to debt recovery.
