Support Worker for Children with Disabilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team at Service Care Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to families whose children have profound and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance and practical support to families with children who have profound and complex needs.
- Conduct direct work with non-verbal children, utilizing communication methods such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and visuals where applicable.
- Assist with behavioral support and offer guidance on direct payments, helping families navigate available resources and services.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings, contributing to discussions on safeguarding and care plans to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families.
- Follow intervention plans created by social workers, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with disabilities, and a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
- Knowledge of direct payments, behavioral support, and safeguarding practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- Experience working with non-verbal children, with familiarity in using PECS and visual communication aids being a plus.
- Experience in implementing intervention plans and supporting the goals set by social workers, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and their families.
