Litigation Specialist

South and Vale District Council is seeking an experienced Litigation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide responsive legal services to our district councils, particularly in relation to environmental health, food safety, health and safety, housing, planning, licensing, and criminal and civil litigation matters.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £51,300. As a Litigation Specialist, you will be responsible for handling criminal litigation work arising out of all the councils' functions, including prosecutions and appeals and inquiries. You will also handle civil litigation work, represent the councils in the courts, and carry out support in debt recovery.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least two years of relevant legal work experience, be admitted as a Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent qualification, and possess thorough and up-to-date knowledge of criminal and civil litigation law and practice.
