GSL Education Bournemouth Branch are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Child Support Worker in Bournemouth. About the role:

As an SEN Child Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to children with diverse learning needs. You will assist with classroom activities, encourage positive behaviour, and help create a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive.

Responsibilities of the SEN Child Support Worker:

  • Provide one-on-one or group support to children with SEN, helping them engage in learning activities.
  • Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans based on each child's specific needs.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills, fostering their independence and confidence.

Requirements of the SEN Child Support Worker:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or care setting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children's development.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and calm manner.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and helping students reach their full potential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
