Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Marshalls. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on site, including maintenance of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.
  • Work on various different types of equipment, including complex systems, and be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure the effective maintenance of equipment and the achievement of production targets.

Requirements:

  • Excellent mechanical and/or electrical working knowledge and experience.
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position, with recognized Mechanical / Electrical qualifications.
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a high-volume manufacturing plant and equipment.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine PPM activities.
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production.
  • Welding and fabrication experience would be beneficial but not essential.
