The Role - What We'd Like You to Do

Currie & Brown seeks a chartered or senior building surveyor to join our Milton Keynes office. As part of our team of building surveyors, you'll cover all aspects of professional and project-related building surveying across the private and public sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments from inception to completion.
  2. Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion and liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control.
  3. Assisting in the management of client/project teams to deliver building surveying services profitably and on time.
  4. Visiting sites to undertake surveys, construction sites, meeting with sub-contractors, contractors, clients, and other staff as required to deliver projects.
  5. Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.
  6. Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong and long-lasting working relationships.

What Skills and Attributes Are We Looking For

We require:

  1. BSc in building surveying or equivalent.
  2. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) is beneficial.
  3. Good technical writing and communication skills (both internal and external).
  4. Proficient skills in the use of AutoCAD and NBS are beneficial.
  5. Experience in the higher education, local government, and healthcare sectors is beneficial.
  6. Significant exposure to and good working relations with private and public sector clients are beneficial.
  7. Well-developed skills in the areas of surveys, project management, clerk of works, repairs, and maintenance are beneficial.
  8. Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  9. A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  10. Outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible when speaking to colleagues and clients alike.
  11. Good IT skills (AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other bespoke software).
