As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for managing a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, providing expert legal advice to clients, and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, using our Case Management Systems and adhering to internal procedures and practices.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients, ensuring they receive timely and pertinent advice, while managing their expectations.
  • Deal with cases involving denial of liability and causation arguments with minimal supervision.
  • Assess liability and quantum, including reviewing medical reports, researching case law, drafting schedules of special damages, and assessing suitable awards for compensation.
  • Identify cases where proceedings would be beneficial to litigate and do so expeditiously.
  • Take a practical and commercial approach to settlements and advising clients on litigation and cost risks.
  • Achieve and exceed targets set in relation to profit costs and issuing, without compromising our integrity.
  • Liaise with sources, medical agencies, experts, third-party insurers, and other relevant parties to progress cases.
  • Attend court hearings to make representations and, where necessary, instruct Barristers to represent clients.
  • Perform to a high level in a target-oriented environment.
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience in managing a caseload of Fast Track RTA litigated claims.
  • Excellent litigator with strong drafting skills and negotiation abilities.
  • Solid working knowledge of the CPR, legislation, and relevant case law.
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
