About the Role:


The Director of Breast Screening will be responsible for leading the Breast Screening service at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. They will provide strategic direction and oversight for the service, ensuring it operates effectively and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership and management for the Breast Screening service, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the service, including enhancing patient care and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Maintain and improve governance processes, ensuring the service is accountable and transparent.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders, promoting a culture of compassion and respect.

About the Team:


The Breast Screening service is part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest hospital trusts in England. The trust serves a local population of around 700,000 and provides specialist services for Kent and Medway. We're on an exciting journey of transformation, with a focus on research, clinical leadership, and making the trust a rewarding and friendly place to work.


Requirements:



  • Full GMC Registration.
  • CCT Specialist Registration.
  • Minimum of English level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), IELTS or graduate of a UK Medical School.
  • Significant proved leadership experience preferably within an NHS context.
  • Wide knowledge and skills in keeping with the NHSBSP breast diagnosis and management requirements.
