Job Title: Structural Dynamics Engineer

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Salary: Competitive salary based on skills and experience

This role involves performing simulation and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to dynamic loading. You will provide structural design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases, following internal procedures and developing evidence of compliance through written calculations and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performing simulation and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to dynamic loading
  2. Providing structural design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases
  3. Following internal procedures and developing evidence of compliance through written calculations and reports
  4. Supporting the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages
  5. Supporting in technical development and research activities, methods and acceptance criterion, liaising with industrial partners and external customers as necessary
  6. Supporting in the development of in-house simulation toolsets

Requirements:

  1. Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree)
  2. Understanding of the principles of structural mechanics and dynamics
  3. Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties)

About the Role:

The Dynamics Team are responsible for demonstrating a vessel's systems continued functionality after experiencing shock loading caused by Naval Underwater Explosion Events (UNDEX). You will be given extensive support to develop your knowledge within the key areas of the Dynamics Team.
